Birthday Party Program
Most young children are fascinated by fire trucks and love to wave at firefighters as they go by with the emergency vehicles lights flashing and sirens wailing. With this in mind, what better way to serve the citizens of the South Line Fire Department than for us to open our doors to them as a place where they can hold their child’s birthday party? The South Line Fire Departments Birthday Party Program offers party attendants a variety of fascinating, fun activities that educates everyone and stimulates the minds of kids to be safety conscious. The children will love to tour our facility as they get an up-close look at emergency equipment; have the opportunity to touch and hold protective firefighting clothing; hear tips on how to be safe; and have the opportunity to learn while having fun. One or two participants might even get the chance to see what an EKG of their heart looks like.
When kids return from a party at the South Line Fire Department, they will talk to their friends about the thrill they had being on the fire truck, looking at the equipment, and learning about the life of being a firefighter. Meanwhile, they will have received crucial information on ways they can prevent fires and injuries as well as how to survive a fire in their home. By encouraging and motivating our young people in the realm of prevention, we can capture the hearts of a generation to be committed to fire prevention and safety in our community.

Easter Egg Hunt
To celebrate the Easter Holiday, South Line plays host to an Easter Egg Hunt annually. In the Harold W. Sager Park behind our Main Hall, thousands of eggs are spread out over the multiple acre park. Each Child goes home with a prize for their participation, while there are several bigger prizes for the more adventurous hunters.
Halloween Parade
Each Halloween South Line Fire Station turns into Ghoul Headquarters, at least for One Night. The Community is invited to come dressed in their best Halloween attire and parade down French Road in celebration. After the parade, participants brave the hallways to a sweet treat. Several Awards are given based on costume categories. A Special Thank You to the Cheektowaga Police Department, and South Line Fire Police Unit for always making sure parade goers are kept safe.
Holiday Food Drive
Annually from Thanksgiving to Christmas, South Line collects food donations for those less fortunate in and around our Coverage Area. With the help of Tops Friendly Markets Store #220, South Line places donation receptacles in their Lobby. Tops Friendly Markets also donates complete meals to every family that may require assistance. Firefighters and Explorers hand deliver these holiday donations just before the Christmas Holiday.
