Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? We are always ready to welcome new members to our family.
Here are some of the requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a physical
- Complete a NYS Firefighter Course (either Interior Firefighter Level #1 or if you only interested in in providing EMS and Scene Support, Exterior Firefighter/Scene Support)
- Become NYS certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Be a resident of the South Line Fire District (or live within a close proximity of the district)
While these are just some of the basic requirements you will constantly receive training year round at weekly drills that are held on Wednesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. New firefighters serve a probationary period of at least one year or until they have completed their Firefighter I and EMT course.
